- The Man, Myth, Legend himself….Jerry “Hippie” Vanderpool
Here is the deal.I have this space to spout what is happening and I hope that my knowledge can be helpful or entertaining to you in someway!! You just never know what might happen here in the Hippies Corner as it is kind of my version of a ” Piper’s Pit ” referring to an old WWE show where you just never would know what might go down!! Might be a Product Review, might be a rant about something, might be New Product Spy Photos , might be …oh who the hell knows !!
You will just have to check back and see!! I can promise you this – IT WILL BE HONEST !!!
…and now on to our show !!!!!!
Well this time I think we are going to have to talk about some Current Events which have been the Testing and Racing of the 2011 Manitou Dorado Pro Downhill fork. We were lucky enough to get this Inverted Beauty from Manitou a few weeks ago after giving them grief about the supposed great performance of the new chassis as opposed to their earlier version – they got us this one to “SHUT US UP” !!!. That is what I have been spending most of my time on recently mounted aboard front side of the Supercross Thumper DH Prototype frame with the fork running in the 203 MM travel setting.
As you can see in some of my dirty pictures air adjustments for this shock are on the top cap located on the left side of the fork making for easy access baby! Right side of the fork houses the updated TPC damper system with a Rebound adjust on top and hi speed/lo speed compression on the bottom giving plenty of usable adjustments to the fork.
While we have yet to get a long term durability test or have the fork be beaten by our roughest of test terrains, it still feels like she will more than continue to perform even better than we expected! Which is a Pleasant Surprise !!!
Nice job Manitou! Hope you don’t want this fork back anytime soon, as she has just left the building for another ride!!
That should do it for this episode of Hippies Corner, but stay tuned as we will be back soon with more!! Plus always remember you’re questions and comments are always welcome and may even be used to keep this ball of confusion rolling.
Now get off your can and get out and ride!!
